Mr. Zhu is a founding partner of the firm and a member of the Communist Party of China. He graduated from the Department of Law at East China University of Political Science and Law. His academic and professional work includes research into emerging forms of crime arising from economic and commercial activities.

Mr. Zhu focuses his practice on criminal defense in cases involving duty-related offenses and economic crimes. His longstanding study of criminal cases has given him extensive defense experience and a particular ability to identify distinctive case theories and develop effective defense strategies, with a view to fully protecting defendants’ lawful rights and interests.

He has acted as defense counsel in major cases involving alleged duty-related offenses for individuals who had held senior positions including Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Prison Administration, Vice President of Bank of China’s Shanghai Branch, Deputy Director of Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Factory, and Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission. He has also defended senior executives of Northern Securities, Aijian Securities, Double Coin Tire, and other listed companies in cases involving alleged financial offenses.

In civil and commercial matters, Mr. Zhu’s research focuses primarily on disputes involving shareholder rights and interests. He serves as Deputy Director of the Corporate Law Research Office and Deputy Director of the Center for Legal Research on Cultural Industries at East China University of Political Science and Law.
