Restructuring and Insolvency Associate
Restructuring and Insolvency is one of Everbright’s signature practices. The team regularly handles domestic and cross-border insolvencies and restructurings, out-of-court restructurings, distressed business rescue, cross-border asset control and recovery, and related complex disputes. It operates through an integrated and team-based model.
The Role
● Assist partners and lead lawyers with domestic and cross-border liquidations, reorganisations, compositions, out-of-court restructurings, and related litigation and arbitration;
● Undertake legal research, draft legal documents, review evidence, coordinate with relevant parties and support matters throughout their lifecycle;
● Contribute to the team’s professional research and know-how, with opportunities for bylined publication; and
● Perform other professional work assigned by the team.
Requirements
● Successful completion of China’s National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Examination or the former National Judicial Examination;
● A sound grounding in law and strong research, drafting and communication skills;
● The ability to conduct legal research, review documents and communicate in writing in English;
● A genuine interest in developing a long-term practice in restructuring and insolvency, corporate and commercial law, and related dispute resolution; and
● A rigorous, proactive and dependable approach, with strong execution and teamwork skills.
● Experience in restructuring and insolvency, corporate and commercial matters, dispute resolution or cross-border work is preferred but not required.
