Meng Hu holds an LL.B. in International Law from East China University of Political Science and Law. He previously held in-house legal management positions with several leading Chinese real estate developers.

Drawing on his extensive in-house experience, Mr. Hu has substantial experience in the development and operation of residential and commercial real estate. He has been involved throughout the acquisition of more than 30 real estate projects through M&A transactions. His experience also covers transfers of projects under construction, urban renewal, whole-village redevelopment, judicial auctions and development management arrangements.

Mr. Hu also has substantial experience in white-collar and economic crime matters and has worked on several major criminal cases in Shanghai. These include the Nuolaishi Group case involving alleged fundraising fraud and illegal absorption of public deposits; the case involving Shanghai Runxian Network Technology Co., Ltd. and its branches concerning the alleged false issuance of special VAT invoices; and the case involving 2345 Network Technology concerning the alleged infringement of citizens’ personal information.

His broader experience covers matters involving money laundering, operating gambling establishments, selling goods bearing counterfeit registered trademarks, illegal business operations, extortion, fraud and contract fraud.
