Yu Peng holds a Ph.D. from Shanghai Maritime University. He is an associate professor and master’s supervisor at the university’s School of Law, an associate research fellow at its Institute of Maritime Law, and a member of the Shanghai Law Society.
Mr. Peng teaches and conducts research in maritime law. His principal research areas include maritime law, carriage of goods by sea, and seafarer development and rights protection. He has published eight academic papers, including CSSCI-indexed articles, undertaken one provincial- or ministerial-level research project, and completed seven commissioned research projects for authorities including the Maritime Safety Administration of the Ministry of Transport.
Mr. Peng has in-depth knowledge of bills of lading and charterparties, cargo claims and shipping policy. He has experience handling complex maritime litigation and non-contentious maritime matters.

- Advised on a financial logistics cooperation project involving China Shipping Group Logistics Co., Ltd. and a branch of China Construction Bank
- Acted for a Jiangsu-based company in a cargo damage dispute arising from a contract for the carriage of goods by sea against the Shanghai branch of a shipping company
- Acted for a shipping company in a time charterparty dispute with another shipping company
- Acted for a Fujian-based shipping company in a voyage charterparty dispute against a Yantai-based mining company
